Dubai Press Club to Host Interactive Presentation ‘Ask Ali’ on Monday 23 July

Dubai-UAE: 22 July, 2012 - Dubai Press Club (DPC) todayannounced it will host an interactive presentation titled ‘Embrace Ramadan withAsk Ali’ to raise awareness on Islamic culture and reach out to internationalmedia representatives for appropriately highlighting the traditional nuances ofIslam.  The event will be held on 23 July inthe Al Mukltaka Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Presented by Ali Al Saloom, Founder of http://www.askali.com event comes as part of DPC’s activity calendar during the Holy Month ofRamadan.
The interactive presentation aims tohelp international and expatriate media persons to understand, accept andovercome any social challenge that they might face. Peppered with amusinganecdotes, the session will demonstrate ways to embrace the Holy Month of Ramadan. Additionally, it will clarify cultural dos and don’ts such as shakingan Arab woman’s hand, the reason why men rub noses, and the right connotationof ‘Insh’Allah’.
Ali’s enthusiasm to share culturalinsights and acquaint people with his region, faith, social, business andcultural environment has resulted in the launch of an information portal - http://www.askali.com the cultural consultancy ‘Embrace Arabia’.
In June 2010, His Highness GeneralSheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy SupremeCommander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi ExecutiveCouncil, honoured Ali Al Saloom with the Khalifa Fund Business Award for the successfullaunch of Maestro Commercial Enterprises.
In 2011, Ali Al Saloom became theEnvironmental Awareness Ambassador for the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD)in order to drive the organisation’s environmental awareness campaigns.

DPC’s activities for the Holy Month ofRamadan will focus on topics that interest a larger section of the community inan attempt to facilitate the exchange of views and ideas. A variety of eventssuch as workshops, symposia, seminars, and social gatherings feature on the calendar.
In partnership with Dubai World TradeCentre, DPC has set up a special Majlis at the Al Wasl Hall at the DubaiInternational Convention and Exhibition Centre that will serve as the venue forevents during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
