Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 11 June 2012 – British Council’s International Young Creative Media Entrepreneur (IYCME) Award has launched for the first time in the UAE, driving further positive collaboration between the UK and UAE professionals.

The British Council’s Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) programme connects a global network of innovative emerging entrepreneurs in the creative sector, finds new ways to take creative work to audiences and communities, and highlights the wider social, economic, and cultural benefits in doing so.

“This is the first year we are launching the Young Creative Media Entrepreneur Award in the UAE. Following the remarkable quality of previous years’ applications for Young Creative Entrepreneur Awards, we are confident of and excited about the calibre of applications to receive for this new category. The quality of UAE applicants and winners of the British Council’s Young Creative Entrepreneur programme proves the existence of great talents who are driving the promising future of the UAE’s creative industry,” said Michel Bechara, Head of Projects, British Council UAE
